Info: Variscite creates octaedric crystals, but it can be found in many different forms. The colour of Variscite is usualy green to emerald green. Variscite can be found in rocks rich of aluminium.
How to recognize: Variscite cannot be melted, but it can be dissolved in mineral acids.
Found: Variscite was found in Austria, Germany, Mercur (Utah, USA). In Czech Republic Variscite can be found in Otov.
Used for: In jewelery, his optical properties are similar to those of turquouse.
