Pyromorphite

Info: Pyromorphite can be found in varios shapes, even covering some other mineral. Pyromorphite is known for his green colour, but it can be also found in the colours of orange, brown, yellow and it sometimes it can be greysh. Sometimes can be colourless or white. Pyromorphite has subadamantine luster, but when broken the luster is more resinous-like. Pyromorphite is usually found in lead mines, together with galenite or cerusite.

How to recognize: Pyromorphite can be dissolved in nitric acid. It also melts in fire. After cooling down, the melted Pyromorphite crystalizes.

Found: Pyromorphite was found in Germany, France, England, Scotland, USA and Italy. In Czech Republic Pyromorphite was found in Příbrami.

Used for: Pyromorphite has no industrial value, but it's valued by mineral collectors.
