Brazilianite

Info: Brazilianite is often found in prismatic crystals. It has yellow to greenish yellow colour, with glassy luster. Brazilianite is often transparent and reaches lenght of 10 cm. This mineral can be found in gaps inside pegmatite rocks, often near lazulite and apatite.

How to recognize: Inside brazilianite can be found little crystals of green tourmaline, sometimes muskovite or it can have inclusions filled with liquid.

Found: Brazilianite was first found in Brasil. Today there are many locations where brazilianite was found later, inside New Hamshire pegmatites (USA) or inside pegmatites in Palermo Mine and Smith Mine in Newport (USA).

Used for: In jewelery.
