Vanadinite

Info: Vanadinite is often found in short collum-like crystals. This mineral is usually vine red, orange, brownish red and yellow. Vanadinite is usually found in lead mines, after oxidation. Its usually found together with pyromorphite and nimetezite, but it's very rare.

How to recognize: Vanadinite is easly dissolved in nitric acid, and it can be melted by fire. When heated until dryed, the melted Vanadinite remains red, but it emits white smoke.

Found: Vanadinite was found in Russia, Wanlockhead (Scotland), Mibladen (Morocco), Arizona and New Mexico (USA). The mineral was also found in the mountain Obir (Austria) and Mezica (Slovenia).
