Tetrahedrite

Info: Crystals from this kind of mineral sometimes reach 15 cm. Tetrahedrite is usually found in tetraedrical form. This mineral can also form agregates. Tetrahedrite is found usually bound with his arsenic analog mineral tennantite. It has steel grey colour with strong metalic shine. Tetrahedrite is mineral of medium hardness.

Found: In Zacatecas (Mexico), Tsumeb (Nambia), Virginia, North Karolina, Colorado, Montana, Utah, Idaho (USA), its also found in other countries like Peru, Bolivia, England, Norway, Schwizerland, Romania, Germany. In Czech Republic is found in Příbramsko and Táborsko.

Used for: Tetrahedrite is important copper, sometimes silver and mercury ore.
