Realgar

Info: Realgar is often found in form of agregate. It is translucent to transparent, with intensive red to orange red colour. Realgar have from oily to diamond shine, and it can be cutted with knife.

How to Recognize: It must be protected from direct sunlight, because when put on light the realgar dissolves into dust, that contains poisonous arsenic and auripigment.

Found: Beautifull crystals were found in Lengenbach, kanton Wallis (Swizerland). Known founds are located in Italy, Macedonia, France, USA and Mexico.

Used For: Mainly for the extraction of arsenic.
