Pyrargyrite

Info: This mineral is found in the same crystal shapes as proustite. Pyrargyrite contains silver and it have dark red colour. Sometimes is translucent and it have from metalic to diamond shine. Crystals of this mineral are among others, favourite crystals for collectors.

How to Recognize: Its hard to recognize pyrargyrite from proustite. When left on light for a certain time it darkens, as the proustite does. It melts in the hydrogen nitrate, and it can be melted in high temperature.

Found: Famous deposits were found in Peru, Chille, Mexico. In Czech Republic beautifull crystals were found in Kutná Hora, Příbramsko, Stará Vožice and Krušná Hora.
