Fluorite

Info: Fluorite often creates big crystals sometimes with huge dimentions. Often is found in crystal twin form. Fluorite can be found as agregate too. In clear form fluorite is colourless and luminiscent. But in nature fluorite can be found in various colours - from pink, yellow and blue to black. Fluorite have glass-like shine, it is heavy, but soft mineral and can be cut by a knife. In UV-light fluoite can be recognized by his pink to purple coloured flourescence (The term flourescence was named after this mineral).

How to recognize: Fluorite have specific low hardness, and forms beautifull crystals.

Found: In England, Canada, Germany, Swizerland, Italy and other locations. In Czech Republic fluorite is found in Krušný hory, along with baryte and quartz (Vrchoslav, Blahuňov, Kovářská, Jílové u Děčína). Few were found arround Liberec, in Krkonoše and Železné hory (Běstvina).
