Baryte

Info: Table crystals of baryte often crystalizes in orthorombic dipyramidal structure. Baryte is often transparent, it can have white colour or different colourations, for example honey yellow or pink. The crystals of baryte are often found in clusters. Baryte also can be found in different-shaped agregates.

How to recognize: Baryte cannot be dissolved in mineral acids. Its heavy but soft mineral and can be scratched by a knife. It have pearl to glassy luster.

Found: Baryte was found in Swizerland, Austria, Germany and Italy. In Czech Republic was found in Krušný Hory.
